Decided where to start with my RV makeover, the valances and headboard in the bedroom are about the ugliest things ever. Who even came up with the whole dust collecting swaggy look anyway? And they are such a lovely color, right? I mean if one shade of beige isn’t enough, two just has to be even better.

One of the problems of removing the valances is that the day-night shades are connected to them so they have to come down too. Of course, since we are going camping in three days, I have to make other arrangements. Eventually I want MCD double shades in here but for now, I think I’m going to run to Lowe’s for cheap roller shade to get me through. Crossing my fingers they can be cut small enough. (I should probably check before I take them down huh?)

Small bedroom window valance boxes

Haven’t decided if I’ll make new valances for the smaller windows since the shades can roll-up right under the cabinet over the bed, but I’m definitely looking at copying this look from Deb’s Heart & Home for our larger window. Not fussy, not too full, just right. I think even Wayne, who likes the current décor by the way SMH, will love it.

Not sure what to do about the headboard yet. I’m loving all the ideas on Pinterest with the peel and stick wood look wallpaper but I’m a little hesitant to put it on a wall that will constantly have pillows and maybe people running into it. At home we have a dark stained wood headboard and I’m thinking, if I go that route, I’ll stain a piece of ¼” plywood and hang it on the wall to simulate the look and keep the weight down. But that will be an RV makeover project for another day.
