The number one question we get from people in our Facebook group is, how do I make money while traveling and living in an RV?

The dream of leaving the rat race behind and living a simpler life while traveling is leading more and more people to the RV nomad life. For a lot of us who hit the road before the typical retirement age, continuing to create income is a necessity. Health Insurance and just insurance in general is not cheap and you gotta eat right? Figuring out how you’ll do that before you pack up the RV will set you up for success,

There are so many ways to make money while traveling you will have some great options to choose from. How do you choose what’s right for you?

Think about what you’ve done in the past, your experience, interests and internet availability. Establishing your wants and travel style will help you choose the best option for you.

Think about what technology will you need? Will you need, and have access to, stable internet regularly? Will you need to work every day, or can you go days or even weeks at a time between jobs? Do you want to work regular 9 to 5 type hours or work when it’s convenient? How will you handle banking and getting paid?

The good news is this: More and more companies are hiring remote workers.

But even if you don’t have online or digital skills, there’s also work that can be done on-site as you live a nomadic life. Of course, you can always learn new skills by taking an online class through LinkedIn Learning, or Udemy or a local community college.

Fortunately for us, our jobs can go wherever we go. Besides this blog, I do freelance writing, social media marketing, and web design and Wayne is an electrician and mechanic, so he can find work anywhere. But if your job is not as portable, maybe one of these 50 ideas will work for you.

This is such an amazing list! I admit, I have often wanted to hit the road for a while with my family, but I never knew how we could afford to do it with all five of us. This makes me feel like it might be possible one day!

There are lots of full-time families on the road. I think it’s an awesome way to teach kids about this country and its history.
